Burnt Sienna Landmark Pro on a Cape in Pembroke
This Pembroke home is a Cape with blue-gray clapboard, a red front door, white trim, and a brick chimney, set on a landscaped lot. The long front slope is the dominant face of the house, so the shingle color sets the tone for the whole front.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Burnt Sienna. Burnt Sienna is a warm reddish-brown blend with real tonal movement. Against blue-gray walls and a red door the warm roof adds contrast and depth and keeps the Cape from reading cold, tying into the brick chimney and the red entry.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The chimney was step-flashed into the slope, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. On a Cape the eave runs the full width, so it had to stay straight for the asphalt roof replacement to read right.
