Burnt Sienna Landmark Pro on a Colonial in Pembroke
This Pembroke home is a two-story colonial with a brick-and-clapboard front, black shutters, and a covered farmer’s porch, set on a landscaped corner lot. The two main roof planes carry the front, so the shingle color reads against both the brick and the clapboard.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Burnt Sienna. Burnt Sienna is a warm reddish-brown blend with real tonal movement. Against red brick and warm siding the blended roof pulls the masonry tones up into the roof and keeps the colonial in a warm, cohesive range.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The porch roof and the chimney were flashed into the main slopes, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. On a symmetrical colonial the eave and ridge lines are what the eye checks first, so that is where the asphalt roof replacement had to stay true.
