Charcoal Black Landmark Pro on a Colonial in Medfield
This Medfield home is a colonial set on a wooded lot, seen here from above where the roof is the dominant surface. The two main planes and the connected rear structure carry most of the visible area, so the shingle color defines the look from the street and from the air.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Charcoal Black. Charcoal Black is a deep, near-solid charcoal with subtle tonal movement. Over a traditional colonial the dark roof gives a clean, sharp cap that reads well against the surrounding tree line and the light walls below.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The valleys and roof-to-wall transitions were flashed, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. The aerial views show the courses running straight the full length of a clean asphalt roof replacement.
