Colonial Slate Roof and Midnight Blue Monogram Siding on a Cape in Franklin
This Franklin home is a Cape-style house with a brick chimney, a bay window, and a raised deck off one end, set on a landscaped corner lot. The roof and the walls were both replaced together, so the roof color and the siding color set the whole look of the house.
We re-sided the house in CertainTeed Monogram vinyl siding in Midnight Blue, a deep navy with a low-gloss finish and a crisp shadow line. We roofed it in CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Colonial Slate, a cool gray blend that mimics natural slate. The gray roof sits cleanly above the deep navy walls and white trim, keeping the contrast sharp without competing with the strong wall color.
For the roof we tore off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys before laying the field, then set new drip edge, flashed the chimney, and capped the ridge. For the siding we ran new house wrap, trimmed the windows and corners, and lapped the panels to a consistent reveal. The combined asphalt roof replacement and siding replacement were detailed so the eave, corner, and trim lines all stay straight.
