Driftwood Landmark Pro on a Brick-Front Colonial in Medfield
This Medfield home is a two-story brick-front colonial with an attached two-car garage, a covered entry, and a deep lawn set against the woods. Between the main house and the garage wing there is a lot of roof in view, and skylights break the rear slope, so the shingle color sets the tone for the whole property.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Driftwood. Driftwood is a soft gray-brown blend with weathered, driftwood-like tonal movement. Against red brick and light trim the blended roof keeps the colonial warm and traditional and bridges the brick and the cooler trim colors without going flat.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The garage tie-in and the skylights were re-flashed and set into the new field, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridges were capped to match the coursing. With the garage roof tying into the main house, the courses had to line up so the asphalt roof replacement reads as one job.
