Evergreen Landmark Pro on a Debra Drive Ranch in Portsmouth
A few doors down on the same Portsmouth street, this Debra Drive ranch took a bolder direction with its new roof. It is a single-story home with light blue-gray siding, arched accent windows, and a rear deck looking out over the coastal neighborhood. With one big, simple roof plane on a ranch like this, the shingle color is the strongest move the house can make.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Evergreen. Evergreen is a deep forest-green blend, one of the few colors that turns the roof itself into the feature instead of a neutral backdrop. Against soft blue-gray siding and white trim, the green reads coastal and a little nautical, and it ties the house to the surrounding trees and lawn rather than the gray of the street.
We tore the roof to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield from the eaves and around the skylight curb before laying the field. New drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, the vents and skylight were re-flashed, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. On a low ranch roof the flashing around the skylight and vents is where a clean asphalt roof replacement holds the line.
