Georgetown Gray Landmark Pro on a Colonial in Medfield
This Medfield home is a two-story colonial with tan clapboard, black shutters, a center entry, and a paver walk crossing a deep front lawn. The two main roof planes carry the front, so the shingle color reads directly against the tan walls.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Georgetown Gray. Georgetown Gray is a mid-gray blend with cool and warm granules mixed through it. Against tan walls and black shutters the gray roof balances the palette and gives the colonial a calm, traditional cap.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The chimney was step-flashed into the slope, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. On a symmetrical colonial the eave and ridge lines are what the eye checks first, so that is where the asphalt roof replacement had to stay true.
