Heather Blend Landmark Pro on a Raised Ranch in Medfield
This Medfield home is a raised ranch with painted brick and wood-shingle walls, a brick chimney, and an attached garage set on a sloped, landscaped lot. The long low roof runs the full width of the house, so the shingle color carries the whole elevation.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Heather Blend. Heather Blend is a warm gray-brown blend with soft violet and tan granules mixed through it. Over painted brick and natural wood the blended roof keeps the raised ranch in a warm, natural range and adds depth across the long plane instead of reading flat.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The chimney was step-flashed into the slope, the garage was tied into the main roof, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. On a raised ranch the long eave line is what the eye follows, so that run had to stay straight for the asphalt roof replacement.
