James Hardie Country Lane Red and Harvey Windows on Wareham Road
This ranch on Wareham Road got new siding and windows together. The house has a long main block with a gable wing and a round window set into the right gable, so the new exterior had to work around some character the owners wanted to keep.
We clad it in James Hardie fiber cement siding in Country Lane Red, a deep brick-red with shake-look detail in the upper gable. Fiber cement is not vinyl and not wood: it’s a dense cement-based board that shrugs off the salt air and sun off the coast, and the factory ColorPlus finish holds its red far longer than paint on wood. Cream trim frames it and keeps the dark red from reading heavy.
The new Harvey windows went in with fresh flashing tape and proper sill pans before the siding closed around them, so water that gets behind the trim drains out instead of sitting. We trimmed tight around the round gable window to keep that detail crisp, and finished the enclosed porch edges to match. Siding and windows done together means one weather-tight envelope, sealed in the right order.
