New Roof, Siding, and Windows on a Split-Level in Braintree
This Braintree home is a split-level with a painted-brick lower level, a new cedar-shingle-style upper, and an attached garage set on a corner lot. This was a full exterior project, with the roof, the siding, and windows all replaced together, so the whole outside of the house was renewed in one job.
We roofed it in CertainTeed Landmark NorthGate in Moire Black, re-sided the upper walls in CertainTeed Cedar Impressions shingle siding in Charcoal Gray, and installed a new Harvey bay window across the front. The charcoal shingle walls, the black roof, and the crisp white bay window and trim give the split-level a clean, modern, monochrome look over the warm brick base.
For the roof we tore off down to the deck, ran ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, set new drip edge, flashed the chimney, and capped the ridge. For the siding we ran new house wrap and installed the Cedar Impressions shingles to a consistent reveal with wrapped corners and trim. The new bay window was set, flashed, and trimmed to shed water into the new siding. The combined roof replacement, siding replacement, and window install were detailed so every line stays straight across the front.
