This Cudworth Lane property in Sudbury is a large two-story colonial estate with cream clapboard and stucco walls, white trim, and a deep, manicured lot. Multiple gable wings, two brick chimneys, and a cupola break the rooflines into several planes, and paver walkways loop through flowering beds out to a circular drive. With this much roof visible from the street and from the air, the shingle color carries the whole property.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Pewterwood. Pewterwood is a warm gray blend with soft brown undertones rather than a flat slate gray. Across the many planes and dormers on this house it keeps the roof reading as one consistent surface, and the warm gray sits comfortably against the cream walls and the brick chimneys without going cold or stark.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through every valley before laying the field. With this many gables, dormers, and wall-to-roof tie-ins, the flashing details are where a roof this size is won or lost, so each valley, sidewall, and chimney was flashed and the ridges were capped to match the coursing. New drip edge went on along all the eaves and rakes, and the long runs and dormer lines were kept straight so the asphalt roof replacement reads clean from the driveway and the air alike.
