Weathered Wood Landmark Pro on a Colonial in North Easton
This North Easton home is a two-story colonial with tan clapboard, a lower ranch wing off one end, and a brick chimney, set on a deep wooded lot. Between the main block and the wing there is a lot of roof in view, so the shingle color sets the tone for the whole property.
We installed CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Weathered Wood. Weathered Wood is a tan and brown blend that reads like aged cedar rather than a flat brown. Over tan walls the warm blended roof keeps the colonial in a natural, earthy range and ties the main house and the wing together under one consistent cap.
We tore the old roof off down to the deck, replaced any soft sheathing, and ran ice and water shield at the eaves and through the valleys before laying the field. The chimney was step-flashed into the slope, the wing was tied into the main roof, new drip edge went on along the eaves and rakes, and the ridge was capped to match the coursing. With the wing roof meeting the main house, the courses had to line up so the asphalt roof replacement reads as one job.
